To be eligible, Medicaid school-based health services, be “medically necessary” and listed on a student’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individual Education Plan (IEP). The billing providers are Local Education Agencies (LEAs) or an enrolled MaineCare provider who has contracted with a school to provide services. Individual rendering providers may enroll separately into Medicaid but are only required to if they are a contract employee with a billing provider.
