Eligibility & Billing in Minnesota

Eligibility defined as children enrolled in Medicaid under age 21 with a current IEP or IFSP. Eligible schools have the option to provide and seek Medicaid reimbursement for eligible medically necessary services to students that are not receiving health-related services through an IEP or an IFSP, or when the services are not identified in the IEP. The billing providers are the Local Education Agencies (LEAs), including Minnesota public schools and school districts, and charter schools and tribal schools enrolled with the Department of Human Services. For IEP services, the rendering providers do not need to enroll separately in Medicaid.
